We regret to inform that Hartleyite Professor Alvappillai Veluppillai passed away on Sunday, November 01, 2015 in San Francisco, USA. He was born in Puloly South and has been living in Sweden and USA since 1990.
Son of late Mr. and Mrs. Alvapillai, son-in-law of late Mr. & Mrs. Chinnaiyah, brother of late A. Subramaniapillai, and Parameswary Sivakumaran, husband of Meenadchy, father of Sivappiriyai Ketheesan and Arulalan. Father-in-law of Kanapathipillai Ketheesan [1984 O/L Batch], Grand-father of Elango and Vanni.
Professor Veluppillai was Professor of Tamil in Peradeniya University, Sri Lanka; Jaffna University, Sri Lanka; Uppsala University, Sweden; University of Virginia, USA; and Arizona State University, USA.
Funeral service will be held in San Francisco on Sunday, November 08, 2015.
