Many of you would have seen the photos of the Ian Karan Hostel opening ceremony in our website or in other social media. Thanks to the generosity of Mr. & Mrs. Karan, Hartley College now has a modern hostel that could house up to one hundred students. This hostel, built at a cost of over fifty million rupees, will provide access to education at Hartley for students otherwise can't afford.
A land adjoining the front gate is up for sale. Purchasing and annexing this particular piece of land is vital to retaining the neighborhood most appropriate for the operation of the hostel and for any expansion in the future. We see this as a great long-term investment beneficial to Hartley College and to our community that should not be missed. All the HCPPA branches, the senior members of the Hartley Trust and Mr. Ian Karan, the donor of the hostel are in favor of this project and working closely with the principal to raise the rupees 5.2 million needed to close the deal.
As appointed coordinators of this fundraising we are appealing to you for your support in reaching our target of rupees one million (C$ 8,300).
